My Career

Since I was a little girl I remember having affection for animals. I always had pets, like cats, dogs and rabbits. And I always had affection for many animal species. At school I decided to study Veterinary Medicine, about twelve or thirteen years old, thinking of becoming a future "Animal Doctor". At the beggining I just liked dogs and cats, but as I was reading and researching animal life, and knowing more species, at this time it is rare that some specie doesn't like to me. Going to university, I opened my mind about how important is a veterinarian in society, because not only contributes to animal health, but also human health, controlling diseases that can be transmited from animals to human, called zoonotic diseases. Besides being involved in the area of foods, improving animal welfare and cares for good production of healthy and good quiality foods. One main tools, I believe, for good works of a veterinarian, is the acces to technology, that can updated on new medical tools, to encourage clinical work and medical aid to this area.
I'm on Second Year, and at this time, my favourite subject is "Animal Behavior", in fact I would like to spend time in my working life as related to behavioral psycology. Although I also like the clinical area, I love so much the exotic animals, wildlife, learn about another species that aren't domestic pets. So I would like study and practice, in some foreing country, exotic animals too.
In my opinion, the main thing it should have a veterinarian,
along with a good knowledge, some technological tools, is
the vocation and to love the animals, improving their quality
of life, encouraging the responsible ownership of pets
by people and to decrease unconsciousness and lack of love
for the most special specie that exist: the animals.

Dog Genius

The documentary "Dog Genius" seen in class was about dog behaviour. First of all, it begins describing how a fox cross breed changes its behaviour, being more friendly with people and it explains the actual dogs behaviour. So, differents studies on dogs seen that the best friend of the human is a genius. For example, a study on a beagle dog called Mabel, was a dog that smelt her owner from a long distances, because her world was basically the olfaction, in fact, the dog's olfactory lobule is bigger than ours. Another example, Donnie was a doberman that put in order his toys. All the time, Donnie taken his toys and put it into the field in order, as well as a triangle or parallel rows. The studies showed that Donnie wanted to catch his owners attention. Also the documental showed a dog called Ambula who could understand differents signs of its owner, especially following the movement of the eyes when its owner indicates what could she do.
I think, after this documental, the dogs are really our faithful companions and its intelligence is greater than we know and the humans studies can identify.

My favourite picture

This is "Clever" and I. This is one of my favourite pictures of the last summer wich was taken by my mother when we were in Saval Park in Valdivia. It was a so beautiful place in that city and my mother and I both taken many pictures that day. In the way to the exit to the park, we saw a field with some horses that used to give rides, and that horse was alone. I closed to him and he looked me so sweetly that I couldn't avoid to caress him!! and in that moment my mother, rightly, taken the pic. The carers of the site told me it was called "Clever" and it was the most quiet, intelligent and friendly horse on that place. I like this picture because, although I didn't want to ride the horse to the pic, it was so sweet that I felt it gaves beauty to the photo and the place was also one of the most beautiful places that I visited on summer, and if you have the opportunity to go to Valdivia, I recommend visit it!

This website is a Virtual Community of internet browsing useful to professionals and university students related to clinical, health and animal production. Some of its free services are: scientific works, clinical cases, general thematic and internal search, a photo gallery and videos about discussed diagnoses , and some notices about veterinary issues.
I found this site by google, when I was looking for a veterinary science journal, that is another service that this site has. I think that it is a good website of information related with veterinary, because all services that it provide.
Recently I have been visit this site twice a week, besides another website that a friend,miss Beatriz, sent me by messenger. The site is http://cuteoverload.com. This is a blog that has so cute pictures of animals, like dogs, cats, birds, bears and my favourite animal: rabbits. Visit it and enjoy the beautiful pictures!

My favourite piece of technology is my MP4.
MP4 is a digital music and video player, a voice recorder, and to keep information.
I got it from the last Christmas, it was a gift, really a very good and necesary gift to me.
I use it every day, especially in the week. On the road from my house to the university I use it like music player, or radio player, as it takes me one hour and half to get there. In the university I use it like voice recorder to record each class of the day, and it help me to study after every class.
Also, and when I need it, the MP4 used to keep information, as a class, work, photos, or some information that I need keep or carry to the university. Besides all of this, I used to save some video, for example a music video, as its memory is 2GB, that is so great!.
I really love this piece of technology because it is a complete tool for all that I need, and it entertains me, it is so useful to me and I think that it is the best piece of technology that I can get.
